Fenway Hotel Wedding Videographer | What It's Really Like Getting Married Here

The first time I walked into the Fenway Hotel, one thing immediately stood out—this place doesn't feel like another Florida wedding venue.

It has some serious personality.

Originally opened in 1927, the Fenway Hotel combines historic architecture with modern waterfront views overlooking St. Joseph Sound. Once you step onto the rooftop, it's easy to understand why so many couples choose to get married here. Between the sunsets, marina views, and the charm of downtown Dunedin just a short walk away, it offers a wedding experience that's hard to replicate anywhere else in Tampa Bay.

I've filmed weddings and bridal events throughout Florida's Gulf Coast for more than 15 years, and every venue has its own character. The Fenway stands out because it feels intimate without sacrificing beautiful scenery.

Fenway Hotel Bridal Showcase Video

One of my favorite experiences at the Fenway Hotel was filming a bridal showcase featuring more than 50 local wedding professionals.

Instead of seeing the venue empty during a tour, couples were able to experience what a real wedding weekend could feel like. Florists transformed the reception spaces with elaborate designs, planners demonstrated ceremony layouts, photographers showcased their work, and musicians filled the venue with live entertainment.

Events like this allow me to learn a venue before the wedding day even begins.

I pay attention to how guests naturally move throughout the property, where the best light appears during different times of day, and which locations create the strongest visual storytelling. Those observations help me work more efficiently when I'm filming an actual wedding.

Wedding Vendor Interviews at the Fenway Hotel

In addition to filming the bridal showcase itself, I also filmed interviews with several wedding vendors who regularly work at the Fenway Hotel. This video features insights from Fenway Hotel staff, Tampa Bay wedding planner 42 Lights, and Allegory Weddings, a company known for their beautifully designed candlelit weddings

These vendors shared their insights about:

  • What makes the Fenway Hotel unique for weddings

  • The experience couples can expect on their wedding day

  • Favorite ceremony and reception setups inside the venue

  • Why Dunedin has become such a popular wedding destination

What I Noticed While Filming at the Fenway Hotel

Every venue has little things you only notice after spending time there with a camera.

One thing I immediately noticed at the Fenway is how quickly the rooftop changes during golden hour. About an hour before sunset, the light becomes much softer and reflects off St. Joseph Sound, creating beautiful natural light for portraits without needing artificial lighting.

The rooftop can also become windy, so I always protect ceremony microphones to make sure couples can clearly hear their vows in the finished film.

Those small details probably aren't obvious to couples during a venue tour, but after filming here, they're the kinds of things I think about before the wedding day even begins.
